We are our children’s first teachers.

  The idea for Designer Education came to me out of necessity during the pandemic. My youngest son, Joe, was finding virtual education for second grade both frustrating and boring. He was also struggling with enhancing his reading skills in the virtual classroom. Because our family’s background is in education, I have a Master of Arts in Education with specializations in Reading and Children’s Literature, and my husband is a mathematics professor, we were able to supplement his learning. Soon I was customizing lessons for neighborhood kids who were facing similar challenges. I saw first hand how Joe and his friends thrived with the extra instruction, which continued even after in-person learning resumed.

  Designer Education exists because I realized that every family should have access to supplemental lesson plans and quality resources that meet the needs of their child and their family. Even if your child is not struggling in school, Designer Education offers ways parents and caregivers can meaningfully explore and foster a child’s specific interest in an engaging and relaxed situation. We seek to make this work cost effective and kind to our planet. Our overall goal is the growth of the learner through our partnership with the family. Today is the day we even the playing field in education by giving you the support you need to teach to your child’s strengths and needs!
